The scope included underground cabling, trenching, integrated protection and SCADA systems, as well as a temporary power connection to support construction activities.Duqm South, the larger of the two developments, will have a capacity of 48 MW across five turbines. Its electrical infrastructure includes 33 kV inter-array cabling, medium-voltage collection switchgear, step-up transformers, a 132 kV switchgear bay, and a nine-kilometre overhead transmission line connecting the project to the grid, located approximately eight kilometres away. The scope also includes extension works at the receiving substation.Beyond the engineering design, DGEC was responsible for securing the necessary permits and approvals from relevant authorities and managing the grid-connection application process, taking both projects from concept through to construction readiness.“Projects of this scale reflect the kind of end-to-end engineering ownership DGEC is built for - moving seamlessly from 33 kV collection networks to 132 kV grid-level integration under one team and one design vision”, a DGEC spokesperson said.
